part 3 of 4

Jason Dill should write a book. I say that about a lot of people, but with Dill i actually mean it. Another thing about if Dill wrote a book, I would read it.

My vote is for taylor, only because the hair.

Surf City LP.... finally

I have been waiting for this to come out for 3 years (since i got their EP). As my wife can attend, I listen to the 5 song EP all the time. She would probably say something like "too much". The fact in the band is from New Zealand so we are a little behind on news about them. I got a little surprise in my email today saying that the Album is finally released. They have been talking about for the last couple years (since the US started to notice them). I hope it's in america soon so i don't have to order it again.

FROM MY EMAIL
"New York’s Oh My Rockness magazine wrote at the end of 2009 “New Zealand's Surf City are getting such big buzz that the hype has made its way halfway around the world”…and they weren’t alone with these thoughts: Brooklyn Vegan – probably the most influential blog in the US - added that Surf City were “easily one of the most-anticipated bands of CMJ 2009”

But despite this obvious excitement, Surf City are not just flash in the pan new kids. Formed in Auckland’s Mt Roskill, they’ve been making a racket around the garages and practice rooms since 2004. Locally, it wasn’t long before they were filling the basement bars and urban hang outs with their warm fuzzed up and strummed down frenetic tones.

In 2007 their debut EP was released on Arch Hill Recordings in New Zealand and Popfrenzy in Australia. A year later, after the EP had travelled in it’s own way around the world, it was released in Europe and the US on Morr Music from Germany.

Between touring the USA twice and Australia numerous times the band have come up trumps with an excellent longplayer. It is called Kudos. The album was recorded over the last year and a half mostly in bedrooms, basements and occasionally the old Arch Hill studios. Mostly it was recorded and mixed by themselves. We think it’s a great album."

another day at the office.

The title should say "just another night working at whole foods". I guess i was trying to make it sound more awesome. In reality, I do love my job, the people are rad and it's a fun place to work. This post isn't about me, or my job. I mean to highlight a specific situation that happened last night. Phil (ty burrell) from modern family came in. As many of you should know, Modern Family is actually the funniest show on TV (emmy to prove it). After helping him find some butter we had a pretty lengthy conversation about the show and life. Pretty rad guy, it's always nice to meet someone you think is cool and they actually end up being cool.

ps. I am not one of those people. when you meet me I am not as cool as you thought.

F.C.S.I vintage edition.

Yes that is me in the middle. I guess I have always had a style dilemma. Either that or I have always been ahead of the game.... you be the judge.

Ps. My sister always has the most proper stance.
Thanks Robert for the photo.

untitled.

For the record it was hard to make a 9/11 post without potentially offending someone. Usually i don't really care, but being an immigrant and in living in the United states even I have to be careful about some stuff.

I figure you might find this picture kinda awesome, in a very sarcastic way.

I don't get it, does his arm hurt cause he just ran into that building?... poor superman.

Melancholy is a topic I’m interested in more than something I deeply feel. There is indeed some form of melancholy in me, but I’m not the kind of girl who spends her afternoon looking out the window with a sad gaze.

theme music

Ever since I saw this movie, nearly 10 years ago, I have always wanted to walk into a room and have "jumping jack flash" playing. I came very close the other day at work. I was in the back room and it came on the radio. I rushed out and pushed through the double doors that swing both ways and started to walk out with a very casual look on my face..... nobody saw, or would have cared.

I'm pooped

This working close shifts at whole foods is really messing with my sleep program.

Happy 90210 to everybody!

new dylan shoes

Just when you all thought i was done posting about Dylan Rieder, you were wrong to say the least. for the half dozen, or so, who follow my blog may have noticed I am a huge fan of everything dylan does (including girlfriend) He continues to kill it in skateboarding and pushing the boundaries of what is expected in a skateboard shoe. About 5 years ago I started skateboarding in slips-ons primarily so liking dylans gravis shoes was an easy transition.

Gravis is coming out with a rather extensive line of Dylan signature shoes. They, like his others, are awesome. They say you can skate in these... I wouldn't, but then again I don't really skate anymore anyway.
