As much as this blog is as far from serious as possible, i will take a slight detour for this post. My mom sent me this (i know i know cheesy already) and it's always nice to have a little reminder of the little things we should be thankful for.

Last night myself, my wife, and my adopted(figurative) sister went to the Brandon Flowers concert. I got there at 5:30 (you're welcome ladies) to secure a spot in line. The three of us are short, thus standing in line an extra hour, or two, is worth it to be able to see the show, and see the show we sure did. We were right up in front and it turned out to be more than worth it. My adopted sister Addie was making love to the bassist with her eyes the whole time causing him to attempt a couple pic tosses in her direction.

After the show we were walking around and noticed him in the venue after conversation we ended up at a the bar sitting at a table with him, Ronnie from the killers, and Fran Healy (the lead singer from the band Travis). It was a cool moment seeing my wife and Fran going through pictures of his son on his iphone. Anyone who knows me is aware of my ability to "fan out" so having normal conversations with a man who has recorded with Sir Paul Mccartney and has sold millions of albums was a highlight.

I blogged the trailer for this documentary before, it came out a couple weeks ago. I had no idea that it was intended to be released online. I think thats a great idea. So many videos online have a five minute max, or make you check weekly for part two or whatever. Well done guys, well done.

Bayou Boys new video

My pals started a bad and called themselves the bayou boys (I'm sure that name is already taken). They are a bad ass rock and roll band to say the least. This is their first video for the song RiverRatSex.

Looking at my previous skills in video production, I was obviously asked to film it.

CHEERS premier: slc 11/10/10

Trevor (two cookie), justin, mike and myself went to the premier of people's new video CHEERS. Also playing was the new transworld video in color. Both videos were good, and there was food.

a little trip

In the spring, of this year, I had just graduated from college, in mid transition to University of Utah and was unemployed. My pals justin, trevor, and josh (The Bayou boys) (as they call themselves) invited me along for a trip they were taking to California to go to a wedding. My wife set it up that they would be staying at her parents house and I "had to" go so i could be the buffer. I took it as my wife was getting sick of me stressing about finding a job and also making lame "to do list" so I stayed "busy". I am annoying to begin with, never mind when I have no direction from day to day.

It was a good trip. These are the random clips we filmed on Trevor's ipod nano and my 3 year old camera, I have a feeling only the four of us will enjoy this.

Riley Vs. DMV round 3

My wife and I recently registered our new car in the state of Utah. Like most things involving the DMV, registering and getting a new title is annoying. There seems to be an unnecessary amount of fees involved, we did manage to save 5 dollars by using our old plates....

I filled out the form and put the new owners as myself "or" my wife, when we got the title in the mail it only had my name. Great another thing to add to my to do list "call DMV". When I called this afternoon I was greeted in a very monotone voice "thank you for calling the department of motor vehicles my name is Kiki (for real) how can I help you". I explained my situation and she assured me I must have filled it out wrong. Most people don't like being told they have made a mistake, I am one who hates it (only until I am proven wrong). With her statement as such i asked if there was an imaging system that she could check, she placed me on hold.....2 minutes later she gets back on and tells me the form I need to fill out. She rushed to end the conversation but not before I ask what the image showed, "sorry Mr Pack, we made the error"... thought so.
